Following the terrible failure of Kara, Dhanush is now starring as the lead in Om, directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy. According to reports, the shooting of this film is nearing its final stages and it will hit screens by November or December this year.
After Om, Dhanush‘s next film is going to be a commercial entertainer tentatively titled D56, directed by Tamizharasan Pachamuthu. The filming for this project is expected to begin next month.
Apart from D56, Dhanush also has a commercial entertainer with Siruthai Siva, a historical film with Mari Selvaraj and Tamizh Murugan with Vetrimaaran in his lineup.
In this scenario, now there is strong speculation that Dhanush and director Karthik Subbaraj are in talks to collaborate for a commercial entertainer. Furthermore, there is also information that if this project materializes, it will most probably be Dhanush’s 58th film. If this speculation proves true, it will mark Karthik Subbaraj and Dhanush’s second collaboration after Jagame Thandhiram.
In response to this speculation, while some people claim that Dhanush has made a very wrong decision suggesting that Karthik Subbaraj has lost his essence and it was evident with the failure of Retro, some Dhanush fans feel that it is a solid collaboration.
They note that even though Jagame Thandhiram was not up to expectations, Dhanush’s characterization in the film was top-notch and they claim that it was Dhanush’s last proper commercial entertainer. Hence, they feel that if Karthik Subbaraj collaborates with Dhanush again, he will deliver a solid film and they hope that this project materializes soon.
Meanwhile, some trackers suggest that if the talks are true, then the result of Dorothy will decide the fate of this collaboration. They claim that unless Karthik Subbaraj makes a strong comeback, no big actors will be ready to work with him.
However, all of these are just social media discussions and there are still no official updates on this collaboration. Therefore, it remains to be seen whether Dhanush and Karthik Subbaraj will collaborate for a commercial entertainer and if they do, how the project will take shape in the future.
