Film and series adaptations are very popular in this new age. But, recently the wave of video game adaptations are taking the higher rank. With HBO’s adaptation of “The Last Of Us” and Netflix’s “Arcane”, is an adaptation of Video Game stories.
And, on this Wednesday Amazon Prime released its adaptation of “Fallout”. A series based on a video game by Polgyon.
As per now, the series has received a wide appreciation and scored 93% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.
The game is based on the Post apocalyptic situation after a nuclear war destroyed the whole civilization. The series is praised by the studio itself.
Critics are saying that adapting Fallout’s world and setting without directly attempting to retell any of the stories from the game series, and crafted a totally new narrative for the series was a very bold and great take.
We have to understand that every video game has a very intricate storyline and subplots and to justify a series we have to maintain the true essence of the game. For the same reason when the live action of “Super mario Bros” were released it got really negative reviews as it was very light on the story telling.
But, Fallout is exception here, filled with drama and humour in the post apocalyptic war situation, brilliantly constructed characters and set ups, Fallout stands bright along with “The Last Of Us”.
