Pushpa 2 The Rule @ Netflix

It is known that Pushpa 2 premieres on Netflix last night at the stroke of midnight. The film is now streaming in multiple Indian languages on Netflix.

Coming to the topic now, the early social media reception after Pushpa 2’s arrival on Netflix has been oddly silent till now.

Usually, when a big hero film releases on OTT, we immediately see the social media space getting bombarded with cuts of the action, clips and elevation blocks from the respective film.

We also see immediate edits with different BGM is on the same scenes from the OTT version, which is usually the norm.

However, in the case of Pushpa, none of this is happening and the social media space is also oddly silent as there hasn’t been much debate about the film either.

Commercial speaking, the film has enough packaging to have its clips trending on social media immediately after the OTT release. The police station scene, helicopter BGM track, Jathara block, all have the impetus to make it happen.

But for some odd reason, none of this is happening as very few clippings, and the two very selective ones have surface on Twitter till now.

Earlier, in the case of Guntur Kaaram, Salaar, and Animal clips from these films started to trend on social media, almost immediately after the OTT debut. On this meter, one would naturally expect a crazy action film like Pushpa 2 to make headlines right from the start.

However, it could also be noted that the piracy version of the film, which got leaked just days after the theatrical release was already trending on social back then. The Dammunte Pattukora Shekhawath track, and Jathara episodes trended and eventually died down then itself.

While this could be considered as one reason, the other could be that the film got a delayed release on OTT as it has been eight weeks since the theatrical release. So it is not too fresh in the minds of the audience. Perhaps it needs more time to grow on the viewers.
