Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh starring, Netflix Original show, Rana Naidu became the highest ranked show on Netflix’s ‘What We Watched’ list. The list ranks all the Netflix titles according to their viewership in the first half of 2023.
It is the only Indian show to make it to the top 400 of the list. Rana Daggubati played the titular role of a troubled shooter for the elite. It follows the life of Rana Naidu and how his job affects his personal life and vice-versa. It is the official remake of the popular American show, Ray Donovan, played by Liev Schreiber.
Rana Naidu received its fair share of criticism due to its dialogues and sequences, it drew the attention of viewers from multiple languages which led to it being in the top 10 in India for a while.
The show is renewed for a second season by the streaming giant. Production will commence in the first quarter of 2024.
The ‘What We Watched’ list is the first time that Netflix released viewership data of all of its titles. The thriller show, ‘The Night Agent’ topped the list with over 812 million watch hours, followed by ‘Ginny & Georgia S2’. This list has made it easier for the creators to know the popularity of their content. It will be published twice a year.
