The fourth season of Panchayat has taken the internet by storm despite some mixed reviews, and actress Sanvikaa, who plays Rinki, is relishing the love and attention.
In a recent interview, she shared her thoughts on the show’s popularity, the evolving romance between Rinki and Sachiv Ji, and her personal journey in the industry.
While fans are excited to see the characters inching closer, Sanvikaa clarified that marriage is not confirmed yet. “It all depends on the writers. I don’t even know what’s coming next,” she said with a smile.
Sanvikaa also talked about how the show has transformed Mahodiya — the real village where Panchayat is shot — into a popular tourist destination. “Google Maps now says ‘Welcome to Gram Panchayat Phulera’! People come to see the village tank, Pradhan Ji’s house, and the Panchayat office. It feels surreal,” she said.
She added that the cast is now instantly recognizable, and people frequently stop her to express how much they’ve enjoyed and rewatched the series.
Recounting memorable filming moments, she spoke about the now-iconic bag-throwing scene from Season 4. Not being someone with great aim or coordination, she struggled with it.
“The bag kept falling on us or the roof. It took 8–9 takes. When it finally landed properly, the whole set burst into celebration,” she recalled.
One emotionally resonant moment she shared was about turning down a kissing scene with Jitendra Kumar, who plays Sachiv Ji.
“I wasn’t comfortable, and the team completely respected that. Jeetu said, ‘Don’t worry. If you’re not okay, we won’t do it.’ That support meant a lot,” she said. The scene was rewritten creatively, and viewers loved it all the same.
Addressing a viral Instagram post where she spoke about her struggles as an outsider in the industry, Sanvikaa said it came from a place of vulnerability. “It hurt, and I needed to express it. A lot of people connected with it, but I didn’t want to take it further,” she added.
Despite the widespread acclaim of Panchayat, she revealed that no major filmmakers have approached her yet. Still, the love she receives from fans, she says, is more than enough for now.
