Sikandar OTT Verdict

AR Murugadoss’ directorial venture starring Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna was much anticipated before its release but fell flat at the box office. To save Sikandar from an absolute budget debacle, the makers were hoping to give it a push at OTT but even that seems to have failed the makers.

The film was released on Netflix on 25 May and it has garnered considerable viewership in the South Asian countries but viewership stats remain average and break no records. It is trending in the number one spot for non-English films in Bangladesh, Bahrain, Maldives, Malaysia, Oman, Pakistan, UAE, Nigeria, & Mauritius!

But it is still much behind its contemporaries Jewel Thief and Pushpa 2 that have 7.8 and 5.8 million viewership. In India Nani’s HIT 3 has taken the top spot as the new arrival and Sikandar is only second to it with 5.1 million views.

While stats are enough to show it has not attained any significant milestone, on top of all this OTT viewers have started trolling the film and especially Salman’s performance. The film remains both a monetary and critical disaster, and Salman fans can only hope he makes a solid comeback after this.
