Whenever the world of OTT is concerned the name of Prime Video never goes uncovered and rightly so. Fearlessly challenging the likes of Netflix, Prime also adopts an aggressive approach towards acquisition of more and more projects in its catalogue, and doesn’t seem to be afraid of taking bets of movies that had failed to impress on the big screens.
Flexing an already wide and ever expanding catalogue, Prime Video has now made available for rent one of the year’s most controversial and underwhelming films, Madame Webb!
Boasting a stellar cast with names like Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney in lead roles, plus the backing of Columbia Pictures, Madame Webb even had the privilege of being based on a Marvel character, yet proved to be a disaster on the big screen. However, this didn’t stop Prime from coming up from taking another bet and has now made the movie available in on rent.
There is full chance of the movie finding its audience on OTT as the world is full of Marvel completists who just have to see it despite the talks surrounding it. Also, it should not be ignored that there is a vast audience that might not consider going to the cinema for a movie which is apparently mediocre, yet would love trying it out when they have nothing else to do, for publicity, good or bad, is publicity nevertheless.
With the movie now available on rent, it is highly likely that it will be available under the normal plan pretty soon as well. The plot of the movien depicts the the central character, Madame Webb(played by Dakota) origin story and features her confronting her past while trying to save three young women from the antagonist Ezekiel Sims, who wants to kill them before they become Spider-Women characters as adults and kill him instead.
