Venkatesh and Trivikram Srinivas have reunited after two decades for Aadarsha Kutumbam (AK47). Produced by Haarika & Hassine Creations, the family entertainer is set to release tomorrow, but its advance bookings have started on a moderate note.
More than 25,000 tickets have been sold on BookMyShow since bookings opened yesterday afternoon. Given the combination of Venkatesh and Trivikram, the initial sales could have been stronger. Repeated postponements appear to have affected the film’s hype to some extent.
The trend is also visible in North America. The film’s US premiere advance sales have crossed $180K, with more than 10,000 tickets sold. Total North American premiere advance sales stand at around $190,000.
The film is currently trending towards $250K in premiere collections. However, the opening is lower than expected for a project carrying the legendary combination of Venkatesh and Trivikram Srinivas.
The reported North American break-even target stands at $2.75 million, making audience reception and word of mouth extremely crucial for its box-office performance.
However, advance bookings alone do not determine a film’s fate. Aadarsha Kutumbam could still gain momentum if audiences respond positively after the premieres. Strong word of mouth could help the film attract more viewers over the opening weekend and capitalize on the Diwali season for the next two weeks.
The film now needs to deliver on content. The initial numbers may not be as strong as expected, but positive audience feedback could still change the box-office scenario.
