Neeraj Pandey who once made movies like “A Wednesday” and “Special 26” seems to lose his charm on the silver screen.
His newest release, “Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha”, failed to strike a chord with the audience, in the timespan of a movie it couldn’t deliver the emotional depth it should have delivered.
Despite a promising cast and the classic cinematic trope the movie lacks the classic sharp wit and charm Pandey is known for, this movie felt more like a recycled tale.
But, surprisingly the same director excels when it comes to web series.
His web series “Special Ops” , an intelligent twist on spy thriller, is a fan favorite. The dark and suspenseful ambiance with Himmat Singh played by Kay Kay Menon hits differently.
The recently released Season 2 of Special Ops already gathered much appreciation.
With sharp writing, layered characters, and an engaging plot it kept the viewers hooked from the very first episode.
Perhaps the freedom and flexibility of a series gave him the freedom to explore characters, and play with the plots so that he can experiment more.
It is very much visible that while Neeraj Pandey is struggling to keep a pace in making movies, he found his place in the OTTs.
