Blockbuster OTT Directors Returning to Big Screen

Raj & DK To Direct Film After 7 Yrs

Acclaimed director-duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK are returning to the big screen after a long wait in a new theatrical outing, their first in seven years.

These celebrated filmmakers are best known for their genre-bending narratives. The duo is now working on a new film, their first since directing the blockbuster horror-comedy Stree (2018), which introduced Amar Kaushik as a director.

Their recent big-screen directorial outing was A Gentleman (2017) featuring Sidharth Malhotra.

Per various sources, Raj & DK will direct one of their new theatrical productions and another will be directed by a different hand.

This follows the same line of thinking from their previous method of developing new directorial talents — as is evident in the case of Stree and The Family Man 2, wherein Suparn Varma directed many critical episodes.

Though they’ve emerged as a powerhouse in the OTT universe with the likes of The Family Man, Farzi, and Citadel: Honey Bunny, the duo is busy with a full slate at present.

The duo is in the process of developing three separate projects such as Farzi 2, Rakt Brahmand and also doing post production work for The Family Man Season 3.

While their OTT calendar is chock-a-block, Raj & DK are also outlining their theatrical journey at the same time. Once they finish writing their Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Sethupathi-starrer crime thriller, which is likely to finish by mid-2026, they will start shooting their much-awaited theatrical return.

Meanwhile, The Family Man Season 3 — featuring Manoj Bajpayee, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Priyamani — has completed shooting and will release on Prime Video around Diwali 2025.
