When we hear the name of Sunny Deol it’s hard not to resonate with him, with an action packed thriller, his recent theatrical release “Jaat”, directed by Gopichand Malineni who is mainly a Telugu director, in a full blown Hindi drama? That alone made “Jaat” an intriguing ride.

While during the opening time the movie the gathered up some buzz around it, grossing ₹5.4 crore at the domestic box office, the excitement was short lived as it couldn’t leave a lasting impact on metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai or Bangalore but in the small cities where Deol already have a super strong fan base the movie got excellent reviews.

Considering his age and his line up of movies like “Border 2” and “Lahore 1947”, “Jeet” seemed like a stepping stone for Deol’s comeback.

Where the movie fell short on audience’s is what started off promisingly with some heavy duty dialogues and action sequences gradually lost its grip post the interval.

Besides Randeep Hooda, most of the supporting cast were Telugu actors. While they did their bit, the cultural mismatch in performance styles was hard to ignore.

Now, “Jaat” is set to make its OTT debut on Netflix on June 7, and one can’t help but wonder, will the film find a second reawakening on streaming?

Is what time will tell us, till then keep a keen eye on Netflix because nonetheless you don’t want to miss a fusion of Bollywood and Telugu industry. Do you?
