Apple TV+ latest heist thriller ‘The Instigators’ has set its release date. The date was announced in the official trailer of the movie.
It stars Matt Damon and Casey Affleck in the lead roles who are going through a midlife crisis which turns into a robbery gone wrong. The two-minute long trailer is filled with moments of comedy and punchlines which seemed a bit overused.
It is set to release on the streaming platform on 9th August. Rest of the cast includes Hong Chau, Paul Walter Hauser, Michael Stuhlbarg, Ving Rhames, Alfred Molina and many more.
The trailer did not promise a new story given the number of heist movies Hollywood has produced over the years, especially in the 90s and 2000s. The only thing that seemed a bit different was the midlife crisis that Matt Damon’s character went through and the involvement of his therapist in the aftermath.
Will ‘The Instigators’ deliver a fresh story or will it be the same old tale of a few guys coming together to try and pull it off? We shall have to wait till 9th August to get the answer.
