Users have not been very satisfied with Amazon Prime Video lately and the device limits policy has added up to the discontentment.
But there is something fundamentally wrong with the platform’s subscription model and they need to change it soon. People are complaining that even after paying hefty amounts for the premium subscription, the service is not good enough. There are ads in between and most of the movies are on rent.
Subscribers do not feel good that even after the premium subscription, there are many titles only available through rent or that say ‘not available in your region’.
It feels like the Prime Video subscription compels you to take another subscription to keep on watching things you like. Even filmmakers would not like to sell their films to Prime Video as it narrows down the reach.
Prime Video has been one of the most trusted streamers in India for a long time and it must not let its present policies break the goodwill they have created.
Only a few changes in the rental policy and add-on subscriptions, and a little modification of the device removal policy can make a huge difference. And the platform should grab the opportunity when it is still time.
