TVF’s Next Rural OTT Hit Series? But Why So Low Key

Court Kacheri cast in rural courtroom scene

TVF’s upcoming series Court Kacheri is set to release on Sony Liv, bringing a courtroom comedy-drama that captures the chaotic charm of a district court in rural India. Shows like Panchayat, Gram Chikitsalay, Mirzapur, and Paatal Lok have proven such backdrops work.

Courtroom and administrative dramas like Mamla Legal Hai, Khakee, and Jamtara have also connected with Indian OTT audiences. If Court Kacheri matches their quality with engaging content and strong performances, it has the potential to become another successful streaming title.

Backed by TVF, the project benefits from a proven creative team with a history of delivering hit OTT content. The studio’s reputation in the Indian web space increases the expectations around how the show will be received.

Despite its upcoming 13 August 2025 release, Court Kacheri has seen relatively low pre-release buzz. Early critic reviews and positive word-of-mouth could play a big role in attracting a wider audience after launch.

The series features Pawan Malhotra, Ashish Verma, Puneet Batra, and Priyasha Bharadwaj, supported by other talented actors. Directed by FTI graduate Ruchir Arun, who also worked on Little Things, the show’s fate will largely depend on its initial reception from viewers.
