Aamir Khan is someone who likes to speak his heart out and his recent candid interview is proof. During the interaction, the actor addressed all speculations regarding his film choices.
It was only recently that Aamir’s Sitaare Zameen Par was released and, despite criticisms, did quite well at the box office.
What the actor specifically addressed during his recent interview was concerning the underwhelming performance of another film, Laal Singh Chaddha.
Aamir clarified that his decision to explore diverse genres, including action, is not a reactionary move driven by box office pressure. He said, “I do not deliberately choose projects based on a film’s commercial performance, such as taking on an action film like Ghajini simply because Laal Singh Chaddha didn’t succeed.
Known for his meticulous approach to cinema and infrequent screen appearances, Aamir stressed that each role he takes on is dictated by the story. He further added, “Naturally, if a violent action role is required, I will pursue it.”
This statement comes amidst rumours that Aamir may be leaning toward more commercially ‘safe’ projects. But the actor’s words reaffirm his long-held reputation as a performer driven by substance over strategy.
So, is he taking a dig at Shah Rukh Khan who chose to do action films like Pathaan and Jawan to come out of the flop phase? We don’t know yet!
