Popular Actor Used Underworld to Threaten Film Director?

Sanjay Gupta on Aditya Pancholi claim

Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta has reportedly recalled an incident from the 1990s involving actor Aditya Pancholi, his film Ram Shastra, and an alleged threat call. According to Sanjay, Aditya was unhappy with the length of his role in the film. He claimed the disagreement later took an unexpected turn.

Sanjay Gupta alleged that Aditya Pancholi used his connections with gangster Chhota Rajan to have him threatened over the phone so that his role in Ram Shastra could be expanded. At the time, Sanjay was still in the early stages of his filmmaking career.

According to Sanjay, both Aatish and Ram Shastra were still under production and had not yet been released. He had not yet established himself as the director behind films such as Kaante, Musafir, Kaabil, and Shootout at Wadala.

Despite the alleged threat, Sanjay Gupta claimed that the incident did not permanently damage his relationship with Aditya Pancholi. He said their friendship reportedly became stronger after the episode, making the story even more surprising.

The account has attracted attention because it highlights the complexities of relationships in the film industry during that period. Ram Shastra, released in 1995, featured Aditya Pancholi, Jackie Shroff, Manisha Koirala, and others in key roles.
