Mahakali starring Bhumi Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Sriya Reddy and Khushbu Sundar in leading roles has generated interest with its first glimpse and teaser. The visuals offered a look at what audiences can expect when the film releases worldwide on 8th January. Prashanth Varma is developing this film as part of his PVCU, a mythological socio-fantasy cinematic universe.
The makers have released a recreation of Aigiri Nandini from the movie. Music composer Smaran Sai has used orchestration to bring emotion to the devotional track. Originally written and composed by Adi Shankaracharya, the song has been recreated for the film.
The track features singers Anila Rajeev, Geetha Madhuri and Sai Charan, who deliver an emotional rendition. The song appears to accompany the awakening of divine Shakti, Devi Mahakali, against the evil Asuras. The visuals also feature Sriya Reddy as Mahakali holding a baby.
Puja Kolluri is directing the film, with RKD Studios producing it on a large scale. The movie has been shot on elaborate sets to create a devotional cinematic experience. Post-production work is currently underway, and the film is scheduled for release during the Sankranti festival period.
