While Yash Raj Films is dealing with the losses faced by Alpha, they have now landed themselves in new trouble. Notably, this is related to Saiyaara, which was released in 2025 and emerged as a big hit at the box office.
Tanishk Bagchi, who composed the music for the film, has recently called out YRF for not paying royalties for the title song. A statement by Tanishk has gone viral, where he said that he did a lot of hard work on the song, and he treated it like his own.
Tanishk said that the payment he received from YRF was very low, and while it was used to do the live and mixes for the song, nothing was left in the end. Tanishk revealed that he has yet to receive royalties worth Rs. 8 lakhs.
Tanishk also wrote that from now onwards, he is planning to work with people who value someone’s creativity, honesty, and the individuals who create their music. However, Tanishk clarified in the end that there are two people with whom he has no issues at all, and they were director Mohit Suri and lyricist Irshad Kamil.
Netizens also responded by questioning YRF for doing such an injustice to talented people. Most of them even addressed the history of YRF, saying that they have a habit of doing the same thing with other individuals.
On the other hand, a particular section questioned whether Tanishk’s claims were true, as he was saying in the statement. People expressed doubts about whether Tanishk was aiming to earn some bigger benefits by making certain allegations against YRF.
Meanwhile, YRF has maintained silence on the matter, and it remains to be seen how they are going to respond in the upcoming days.
