The makers of Sikandar are promoting it as a fresh and original film seeing the sad fate of remakes in the last few years at the box office.

Directed by A.R. Murugadoss, who is known for his knack for gripping storytelling like Ghajini and Holiday, assures that this is not a remake of any film. He claims that this action-packed entertainer will be unlike anything seen before.

However, this is not the first time Salman Khan has been associated with a project written by Murugadoss. Back in 2014, Jai Ho was a remake of Chiranjeevi’s Stalin, which Murugadoss had originally written and directed.

That film, directed by Sohail Khan, turned out to be a big box office failure. Given this history, we have to see how Salman and Murugadoss’ combinations pans out this time.

Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Sikandar pairs Salman with Rashmika Mandanna for the first time. The film also features Kajal Aggarwal and Prateik Babbar in key roles.

The makers have not yet revealed the trailer or the exact release date. However, they have confirmed that the film will hit the big screens during Eid this year.

Salman’s star power is undoubtedly the film’s biggest strength. However, for Sikandar to truly succeed, it needs strong storytelling, which will ultimately depend on Murugadoss’ execution.
