Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, featuring Vicky Kaushal and Ranbir Kapoor, has been creating headlines before its release on the big screen. Although the makers have not announced anything officially, the film is reportedly expected to witness a delay in release.
As per the latest update, the film was originally supposed to be released on March 20, 2026.

However, the makers have now reportedly shifted the film’s release to Independence Day the same year. This means that the film might clash with two more films, Kartik Aaryan’s Naagzilla and Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya 2.
The delay in Love & War’s release is reportedly happening due to a delay of three months in the filming process. Although the original release date marked the occasion of Eid, Independence Day might not be a bad time to record big collections at the box office.

But at the same time, the clash of three films is not the right decision, specifically in today’s situation where the face-off between two films have not worked perfectly. Moreover, everyone recalls what happened on Eid last year when Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan came out in theatres.
Apart from that, we saw another clash on Independence Day weekend in 2024, when Stree 2, Vedaa, and Khel Khel Mein were released together. While Stree 2 emerged as the highest-grossing film, the other two failed to collect even Rs. 100 crores.

Any one or two films need to shift their release date from Independence Day 2026 to another occasion if they want the best results.
The box office numbers of Love & War, Naagzilla, and Bhediya 2, are necessary for Bollywood’s survival and in that case, they have to avoid a clash.
All three films have a different kind of audience, and separate release dates would ensure that more people come running to the theatres. Moreover, a solo release is necessary, especially if the budget is too high.
Meanwhile, an official announcement from the makers of Love & War would decide if a clash would happen or things would be easier for all three films to make a big impact at the box office.
