Pawan Kalyan‘s JanaSena Party has reported a 98.2 per cent strike rate in the MPTC elections across the erstwhile Godavari districts of Andhra Pradesh. According to the latest figures, the party won 56 of the 57 seats it contested, with the remaining seat reportedly going to a Jana Sena rebel candidate.
The results underline JanaSena’s electoral presence in the Godavari region, where the party secured victories across East Godavari, Kakinada, Dr B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema, West Godavari and Eluru districts.
Kakinada accounted for the highest number of Jana Sena victories, with the party winning 21 seats and losing one. It recorded a strike rate of 95.5 per cent in the district.
In East Godavari, Jana Sena won all 13 seats it contested. The party also registered a 100 per cent strike rate in Konaseema with seven victories, West Godavari with three and Eluru with 12.
The only defeat for an official Jana Sena candidate was reported in Kakinada district. However, the winning candidate in that constituency was reportedly a Jana Sena rebel who contested against the party’s nominee.
According to the figures shared, YSRCP did not win any of these 57 contested seats. The results reflect Jana Sena’s performance in the constituencies allotted to it as part of the TDP-Jana Sena-BJP alliance.
The performance follows Jana Sena’s victories in the recent municipal elections, where the party won all the mayoral and chairperson posts it contested. The parishad results add to its representation in rural local bodies.
The Godavari region has been politically important for Jana Sena, particularly following its performance in the 2024 Assembly elections. The latest MPTC results provide another indication of its electoral presence in the region.
However, the 98.2 per cent strike rate applies specifically to the 57 reported MPTC contests. The rebel candidate’s victory is not counted as an official JanaSena win.
The figures remain subject to confirmation against the State Election Commission’s final constituency-wise results.
