The re-release of Tumbbad turned out to be one of the best decisions for the makers considering the collections that the film has accumulated so far. While Sohum Shah confirmed a sequel, he addressed the impact of Shah Rukh Khan on his career in an interview.
Sohum said in the conversation that the Pathaan star let him believe that outsiders can also become popular faces in Bollywood. The actor mentioned that it was SRK’s entry into Bollywood that helped people understand that the film industry will always welcome outsiders.
Sohum revealed that ever since he was a kid, he dreamt of doing everything that has been done by SRK over the years, calling him an “inspiration.” He additionally stated that the Raees star has also been like a God to him.
Furthermore, Sohum expressed his happiness on how he felt good when SRK praised the trailer of Tumbbad when it originally came out around six years ago. He even praised the Anjaam star’s journey in Bollywood over the years, saying that it has inspired a lot of people.
The announcement teaser of the sequel was first revealed last month. Sohum’s voiceover can be heard in the video and it is expected to focus more on the character of Pandurang, played by Mohammad Samad.
