Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor’s first film on the big screen, Loveyapa, is scheduled to be released this Friday. While audiences have already witnessed the duo in two OTT films, Maharaja and Archies, in large numbers, the advance booking reports have not been up to the mark.
Reports have claimed that the numbers are too low on the first day, and this is shocking, especially after Junaid became a popular face for his performance in Maharaja.
Loveyapa is a remake of the Tamil romantic-comedy film Love Today. The film is arriving before Valentine’s Day and considering the main theme, huge crowds should have come to the theatres to watch it. Unfortunately, that is not happening.
Apart from Loveyapa, Badass Ravi Kumar and Vidaamuyarchi are also releasing on the big screen on February 7, 2025. Compared to Loveyapa, the other two films have created more hype among the audience.
Vidaamuyarchi is expected to do good business at the box office due to Ajith’s stardom and Badass Ravi Kumar has already grabbed a lot of attention due to its trailer that featured amazing action sequences alongside clap-worthy dialogues.
It is not wrong for any production house to launch a new actor in the film industry. But it is important for the makers, especially from Bollywood, to understand that remakes have lost their value in the film industry and viewers are interested in watching original content now.
Junaid and Khushi don’t have enough popularity to contribute to the success of Loveyapa. Moreover, the trailer and songs have not left a positive impression on anyone, leading to more disinterest.
It seems like Loveyapa will eventually turn out to be a disaster in the end and this should be a learning lesson for all the producers.
