While her performance has been critically acclaimed for multiple performances, the box office numbers tell a different story.

In the last 10 years, she has released 11 films out of which 10 were flops. Manikarnika – The Queen Of Jhansi in 2019 was an exception as it managed to be an average film with a lifetime collection of Rs. 92.19 crores.

The last decade has been her rise as a leading actor known for her solo projects. There has been a huge disconnect between her choice of films and their box office performance.

Particularly concerning are the single-digit lifetime collection of her last three films Tejas, Dhaakad, and Thalaivii. None of the three have earned more than Rs 5 crores in their lifetime.

While Kangana has grown tremendously as an artist, her off-screen persona has started to affect her on-screen performances. The audience while watching her on screen cannot differentiate between the two personalities of the actor.

In the era of remakes and franchises, according to trade experts, a third part of Kangana’s popular film Tanu Weds Manu could help her get out of her slump.

Kangana has been taking risks with her films, portraying strong female characters and unconventional stories. However, in her pursuit as an artist, she hasn’t been lucky with box office numbers that show her growth. She still has a lot of fight in her and hopefully, we can see her comeback soon.
