Kesari Chapter 2, which features Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan, and Ananya Panday in the lead, managed to receive a positive response from the audience despite not getting a good opening at the box office.
While the film continues its run in theatres, it has managed to create headlines for scenes where Akshay’s character uses the word “f*ck.” Considering that the usage of the word has remained a debate for many people, director Karan Singh Tyagi addressed the same in an interview.

Karan said that the word was intended to show bold confrontations with the British and the main aim was to face the British people by directly looking them in the eye. He mentioned that C. Sankaran Nair’s story has a lot of courage included and they wanted to show the same on screen.
Karan also opened up on the film’s historical accuracy, saying that it covers the 16th century, and they spoke to certain historians to verify everything they were adding to the film.

Karan’s comments have proved that they did everything to attract audiences to the big screen. The theme has undoubtedly left an impression on the audience, and the film has reportedly collected around Rs. 56 crores as of April 22, 2025.
Considering that Akshay’s last few films have not worked, the above-mentioned number can be called an improvement for the actor. However, the A certificate has already brought some restriction and it remains to be seen if the box office collections would witness a rise.
