Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War is reportedly moving away from its earlier Eid 2026 release plan. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, and was expected to clash with Yash’s Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups.
However, fresh updates suggest the team may not meet the March 19, 2026 timeline, as production is still underway. Instead of rushing, the makers seem to prefer delivering a polished film.
Bhansali is known for his detailed filmmaking style, and the decision appears practical rather than competitive. Releasing later in 2026 may also give Love and War a cleaner, less crowded window.
Meanwhile, Yash’s Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas, continues to hold the Eid 2026 slot confidently. Positioned as a dark action-drama, it is already among the most anticipated pan-India releases. Promotions are expected to begin early next year.
With Love and War stepping aside, Toxic may now enjoy a solo festival run, larger screen allocation, and stronger box office momentum, unless Dhamaal 4 sticks to its date. This reshuffle could influence release strategies for other major films in 2026.
