100 Crore Actor as Modi: How Many Is Too Many?

Maa Vande Modi biopic shoot begins

A new biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently in production. Titled Maa Vande, the makers have confirmed that shooting has officially begun. A short video showing a puja ceremony was shared to mark the start.

The team had gathered a few days earlier to formally launch the project. Following this, regular shooting for the film has now commenced.

According to reports, the film features top technicians from the Indian film industry. It is being made with international standards, high technical values, and advanced VFX.

Maa Vande aims to present both the personal and political sides of Prime Minister Modi’s life. The narrative is said to be natural in tone and will cover key milestones from Modi ji’s journey. A special focus is also placed on his bond with his mother, Heeraben.

The film is produced by Veer Reddy M and directed by Kranthi Kumar CH. It stars Marco fame Unni Mukundan as Narendra Modi. The makers are planning a pan-India release in multiple languages, including English.

Soon after the announcement, social media saw a wave of reactions from fans. Many questioned the need for multiple biopics on Narendra Modi when earlier ones failed to leave a lasting impact.

Fans recalled the 2019 biopic PM Narendra Modi, which starred Vivek Oberoi. They also mentioned the fictionalised series Modi: Journey of a Common Man, which streamed on Prime Video and featured Mahesh Thakur.

Some users commented that despite having one nation and one Prime Minister, there are already several biopics on him. Others sarcastically suggested that filmmakers may continue making such films until one finally succeeds.

Amid the debate, a section of fans also discussed Unni Mukundan’s career choices. They felt that after the success of Marco, he had strong momentum. However, they believe portraying Narendra Modi in a biopic could be a risky move at this stage.

Although Maa Vande is still in its shooting phase, curiosity around the film is already high. Audiences are keen to see whether it will chart a new path or follow the fate of earlier Modi-based projects.
