Akshay Kumar Comeback Still Far

Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force got a better response than his previous films- both from the audience and the box office.

But it is not to be mistaken with Sky Force being a hit film. It is still considered a flop film.

Compared to his lacklustre performances in Sarfira, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, and Mission Raniganj, his portrayal of Kumar Om Ahuja in Sky Force showed some improvement.

Even its box office collection of Rs 110 crore was higher than his previous films.

However, trade experts say that many seats were blocked and booked by the makers themselves, increasing the numbers. The actual collection is estimated to be only 40-50% of the reported figures, bringing the real collection down to around Rs 60 crore.

Despite this, its performance can be considered slightly better than his previous films. But all this still doesn’t make Sky Force a hit film.

In a recent interview, co-director Sandeep Kewlani stated that he believes Sky Force marks Akshay Kumar’s strong acting comeback.

While Akshay has always been a good actor, his recent projects lacked passion. It often seemed like he was wrapping up shoots in 40 days and moving on.

Perhaps, directors should stop misleading actors with such exaggerated statements. While Akshay’s performance in Sky Force was better than before, calling it an acting comeback would be an overstatement.

Instead of sugarcoating feedback, both directors and audiences should be honest which will allow actors to improve.

If Akshay truly wants to make a strong comeback, he needs to work harder, choose better scripts, and put in more effort to have a solid acting comeback.
