Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is currently busy with Karna. The movie is being produced by Excel Entertainment, and it is reported to go on the floors in August 2027. The film has been planned over the last five years. Salman Khan is reported to play the lead role in the film.
As per a new update, Rakeysh will work on another film before Karna enters production. Notably, the director has signed Vikrant Massey for a movie. Furthermore, it will be filmed in 30 days, which means Karna won’t get postponed by a very long gap.
Latest reports have revealed that Rakeysh and Vikrant’s film is going to be a love story set in a small town. The former developed the idea some time ago, and he aims to take the audience on a romantic journey.
This does not mean that Rakeysh won’t focus on Karna at all. An insider has claimed that Excel Entertainment and its team of technicians will be working on the pre-production of Karna. The upcoming film will be made in two parts. However, a potential release date remains unknown.
Netizens reacted by saying that a small-town love story is a good choice for Vikrant Massey. People said that just like how Musafir Café worked on Netflix, this one might do well if the content can leave an impression on the audience and the movie is made on a low budget.
However, a few others, specifically Salman’s fans, expressed concern by saying that Rakeysh should focus on one film because diverting his attention to another will only impact the output of Karna. They said that it is an important film for him too since Salman and Rakeysh are both going through a tough phase, aiming to deliver a good film to the audience.
As of now, it looks like Rakeysh has made the perfect plans for a big comeback. But the question that remains right now is whether he will be able to leave a positive impression as he did many years ago with Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.
