Ramayana trailer featuring Ranbir Kapoor

While the entire world was waiting to see Spider-Man: Brand New Day from early morning on July 30, 2026, they were also waiting to witness the trailer of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, which came out at 4:15 a.m.

This is an asset that people have been eager to see for all these months. Meanwhile, the reactions have proved for now that it was not worth the hype and wait. A lot of things have gone wrong, as per the audience, and it seems like people wanted something more, despite the fact that the experience was not similar to Adipurush.

One particular thing that is being pointed out here is the work of Namit Malhotra’s VFX company, DNEG. Netizens claimed that DNEG has undoubtedly proved with the trailer that they are the best when it comes to CGI. But people are still questioning why the makers did not opt for a practical or on-location shoot.

Some stated that selecting a practical location would have brought more authenticity since the CGI is clearly visible in the trailer, and anyone can say that a lot of things are artificial.

People even compared the visuals to The Odyssey, saying that Christopher Nolan did a better job by choosing practical locations. Social media users even questioned if Namit was making Ramayana as part of his passion or whether it is a strategy of the producer to show the ability of his VFX company.

Apart from all these, other things have become a topic of discussion. One of them is the Hindi being spoken by Yash. People stated that it sounds very rough. Ranbir Kapoor as Ram has also not left an impression, as netizens wrote that he is not feeling natural. A few even pointed out the actor’s beard on screen, saying that it was a wrong addition that should have been changed.

People also claimed that Ravan has a better aura in the trailer than Ram. A particular section said that Rakul Preet Singh turned out to be a surprise package as she has overshadowed Sai Pallavi, who plays Sita. Some stated that Rakul might get a big breakthrough after this movie.

The reactions have proved for now that the trailer did not have anything big that could have left an impression on everyone. But the real question right now is whether people will still prefer to buy tickets for the film or the makers are going to suffer losses in some manner. Let’s wait and see.
