Salman Khan’s delayed film, Maatrubhumi is in the news again. After changing the title, it seems the makers have now changed its messaging as well.
According to reports from India Today, Salman was very clear that he did not want the film to be filled with jingoism. Instead, he wanted to send a strong message of peace. This was a condition he set even before signing the film.
Salman Khan has always stayed away from movies that show war between countries. He even avoids showing Pakistan in a bad light, which is why his Spy Universe movies show ISI agents helping Indian spies. However, social media users have pointed out a contradiction. If he really wanted to give a peace message, why did he choose a film based on the Battle of Galwan Valley where Indian soldiers were martyred? Many experts feel that Salman is trying to give an unnecessary message that nobody needs right now. There is a war like situation in the world where multiple countries are fighting, so people are already aware of the reality.
Industry insiders say that the film is bound to be a flop. They believe the final product is not up to the mark because the makers ruined it by commercializing it heavily. It was announced as a film based on the real events of the Galwan Valley clash, but it ended up as a typical Salman movie. That is why they are now trying to do damage control by promoting it as a “peace” message film.
