As Bollywood aims to rely more on sequels and franchises, add Akshay Kumar’s epic war drama Kesari into the mix. Kesari was one of the most appealing and terrific films of Akshay’s career.
As the actor was supposedly involved in another war biopic surrounding the Jalianwala Bagh Massacre, the film’s title has been renamed to Kesari 2.

The film was initially called Shankara but now has been renamed to Kesari 2. While the film does not have any connection with the epic war drama released in 2019, but the film is based on the same themes of nationalism and bravery.
This move might be a beneficial one as fans would be attracted even more with the familiar name. While it attracts for a better box office release, makers are using a great strategy to have a decent box office collection.

While Akshay Kumar is already leading several franchise films later this year, another one has been added to that list with Kesari 2. With his recent release Sky Force still running at theatres, he will be seen in Jolly LLB 2, Welcome to the Jungle, Housefull 5, and now Kesari 2 later this year.
Kesari 2 will also feature R Madhavan and Ananya Panday in prominent roles. The film is set to showcase a legendary courtroom battle that Sankaran Nair did against the Britishers to cover the hidden truth about the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre.
