Alia Bhatt’s Jigra was recently released on the big screen. While it was expected to pull crowds to the theatres considering Alia’s stardom, the results have been the opposite.
On the other hand, a statement shared by Kangana Ranaut on her Instagram Story has seemingly hinted towards the box office figures of Jigra on the day of release. Notably, Kangana did the same before the arrival of Gangubai Kathiawadi in 2022. However, the film turned out to be successful.

Kangana’s latest Story referred to women-centric films as she wrote: “When you destroy woman centric films and make sure that they don’t work, they don’t work, even when you make them. Read that again. Thanks.”
While Kangana did not mention anything about Alia or Jigra in her statement, netizens believe that her words are pointing to the latter. Kangana has yet to clarify everything from her side.

Jigra, also featuring Vedang Raina in the lead, failed to get a decent opening despite the ongoing festive season. The reviews have also been mixed, with major criticism towards the screenplay and the runtime.
Apart from all this, another Instagram Story by producer and actress Divya Khosla Kumar has created headlines. Divya’s story included a photo captured at PVR, Citi Mall, Mumbai, and it shows that all the seats were empty.

Divya addressed the same by saying that Alia purchased the tickets and the collections that were being reported through the official handles of the makers were false. She even questioned why the “paid media” had been silent over this matter.
Jigra is helmed by Vasan Bala and produced by Alia alongside Apoorva Mehta, Karan Johar, Shaheen Bhatt, and Soumen Mishra.
