The Student of the Year franchise is returning with its third chapter, and this time, Dharma Productions is taking a different route. Student of the Year 3 will be made as a web series under the direction of Reema Maya.
Reports suggest that Shaumik, the actor who played Bobby Deol’s son in The Ba**ds of Bollywood, has been roped in to play one of the lead roles in SOTY 3. His performance in the Aryan Khan-directed series gained attention, especially for that unforgettable Pushpa-inspired twist in the climax.
Having previously worked with Aryan Khan turned out to be a breakthrough for Shaumik, who now joins Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions for this new project. In SOTY 3, he is expected to play Shanaya Kapoor’s romantic interest.
Shanaya Kapoor, meanwhile, is set to take on a double role in the series a challenging and refreshing shift from her earlier work. Fans believe that Shaumik’s entry will bring the same chaos and energy that made The Ba**ds of Bollywood* so talked-about.
