Sikandar is one of the most-awaited films of Salman Khan. Fans are eagerly waiting for the superstar to bounce back with a big blockbuster and the teaser that came out in December last year has already hinted at the possibility.

The action-drama helmed by A.R. Murugadoss will arrive on Eid this year and the release date has been finalized as March 30, which will fall on Sunday.

The release date was revealed on the international ticket-booking platforms and the big reveal coming on February 27 is expected to disclose more details.

Notably, the film’s advance booking is already open in overseas markets and until now, around 41,000 tickets worth $628,729 have been sold so far.

Although a trailer is yet to be released, Sikandar’s competition in terms of advance booking at international circuits will be with other blockbusters over the years, including Pathaan, Jawan, Stree 2, Animal, and Pushpa 2.

Jawan created records back in 2023 with a sum of Rs. 75 crores of advance booking overseas and it seems like Salman will be under pressure to beat the numbers made by his close friend in the film industry.

Considering that, Sikandar has to collect almost Rs. 44 crores on the first day overseas to grab a spot in the list of top ten Bollywood openers outside India.

A.R. Murugadoss has managed to have a decent track record over the years and it remains to be seen if Sikandar will repeat the success of his past films.

However, the film’s release on Sunday might hamper its collections since the next day will be a working day and people might not want to visit theatres.

With only a little time left, maybe it will be a wise decision for the makers to shift the film’s release to an extended weekend instead of a Sunday if it has to emerge as a blockbuster.

Sikandar has been made on a humongous budget of Rs. 400 crores and only time will tell if the producers can recover everything.
