Kiran Rao, who recently spoke about her divorce from Aamir Khan, is facing significant backlash for her comments. In a candid interview, Rao described her divorce as “happy” and expressed contentment with her decision, stating it has made her feel liberated and fulfilled.
Rao revealed that although the separation was challenging, it was ultimately beneficial for her well-being.
“It’s been a very happy divorce. I feel relationships need to be redefined from time to time because we change as human beings as we grow. We need different things and divorce is what I felt would make me happy and has made me very happy, honestly,” she said.
However, Rao’s comments have sparked controversy, with some netizens accusing her of promoting divorce and undermining traditional values.
Social media users have expressed disapproval, arguing that her positive portrayal of divorce contradicts the cultural and familial norms of our country.
Additionally, Kiran Rao is getting slammed by a section of people for first marrying a Muslim man when he was already married. They argue that her celebration and promotion of divorce might set a wrong precedent among Hindu girls.
