Amar Kaushik’s blockbuster sequel to Stree 2 has been in news since many weeks in the past. The Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkumar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana and Abhishek Banerjee starrer project has given a stellar performance at the box office. Sarkata Ka Atank really worked wonders in entertaining fans! But there were some plagiarism allegations that cannot be overlooked by fans.
When the official posters of Stree 2 were released, fans noticed that it exactly copied the poster design of Stranger Things 2. Many believed that the makers didn’t put much effort and simply copied it to the very minute details. While others argued online that it was merely a coincidence. The resemblance was so striking that it became a talk of the social media as soon as the posters were released. After all an exciting project like Stree 2 could have come with some authentic posters.
When Abhishek Banerjee was asked about the same, he seems to have an indifferent opinion. He stated that as an actor his job was to be on the posters and not make it. The questions about the designs are not his department so he refrained from answering them. It is a saddening prospect that even inspite of tremendous creativity, Bollywood projects become a subject to international levels. It might be possible that Stranger Things’ immense success worldwide made the designers use it as a model for Stree 2 posters. Bollywood fans are still in hopes for something that can be 100% Indian in all aspects.
