A few weeks ago no one believed that a Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-led film would revive the industry that has been suffering the worst due to the non-performance of films starring big heroes.
Yes, the franchise and recall value of Stree assured that the sequel would get a good opening of 20-25 crores but what is happening right now in the theaters is absolute madness.

Stree 2 has ignited a frenzy at the box office, going into overdrive on its first day. Early estimates indicate that the film is set to collect around Rs 42 crore on Independence Day, with the top three national chains – PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis – contributing a staggering Rs 22 crore.
The film is running at full capacity across multiple regions, with several locations facing ticket shortages.

The demand for Stree 2 is phenomenal, and the extended five-day holiday period is working in its favor. Adding the Rs 8.50 crore from paid previews, the opening day total stands at a massive Rs 50 crore.
This is an extraordinary achievement for a mid-budget horror-comedy without any superstars.

It’s important to note that these numbers have been achieved despite a three-way box office clash with Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein. If Stree 2 had enjoyed a solo release, the day-one collections could have been even higher.
With such strong demand, the film is projected to have a historic extended 6-day opening weekend, potentially reaching Rs 200 crore over six days.
Given this momentum, the film is well on its way to crossing Rs 300 crore, and it’s possible it could even reach Rs 400 crore net from India alone, depending on its long legs.
Stree 2 is attracting crowds across both multiplexes and single screens, and the demand for additional showings continues to grow.
