The Viral Fever (TVF), known for its successful digital shows, is now making a major move into mainstream Bollywood with Vvan. The film is one of the studio’s most ambitious projects and is produced in association with Ektaa R Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures.
The makers have officially announced September 25, 2026, as the release date for Vvan, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia. A recently released poster offers a glimpse into the film’s mysterious and visually rich world. The film is directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Arunabh Kumar, and Niraj Kothari.
The change in release date appears to be a strategic decision. Vvaan was originally scheduled to release on August 28, 2026, where it would have faced competition from Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups and Shraddha Kapoor’s Eetha. By moving to September, the makers have avoided a major box office clash.
TVF’s involvement makes the project even more interesting. Over the years, the studio has earned a loyal audience with shows such as Panchayat, Kota Factory, Gullak, Aspirants, and Sapne vs Everyone. Its stories have connected with viewers through relatable characters and grounded storytelling.
The biggest challenge will be bringing the same storytelling strength to the big screen. Success on OTT platforms does not always guarantee strong theatrical performance. However, TVF has consistently built trust among audiences with its content across different age groups.
If Vvan successfully combines emotional storytelling with the scale of a folklore-based fantasy film, it could become one of the most talked-about releases of 2026. The film has the potential to introduce TVF’s storytelling style to a wider theatrical audience.
For Sidharth Malhotra, the film marks another opportunity to revive his career after Param Sundari. For Tamannaah Bhatia, it offers a chance to return as a full-fledged lead actor. The industry will now be watching closely to see whether Vvan can recreate TVF’s digital success on the big screen.
