Yash’s look as Ravana in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana has sparked another debate, with Aarya Babbar questioning whether the Kannada actor has brought anything new to the table. Aarya compared Yash’s appearance with his bearded look in the KGF franchise and argued that the actor’s transformation does not look particularly different from what audiences have seen before.
In his remarks, the actor pointed out that Yash appeared to have retained a similar beard. He further said that he found the actor’s look in Toxic far more distinctive.
Aarya, however, stopped short of dismissing Yash’s performance. He expressed hope that the actor would reveal a different side of himself throughout the film. He also suggested that the full characterisation might offer more than what has been shown so far.
Adding another layer to the controversy, Aarya Babbar reportedly felt Saif Ali Khan’s portrayal of Ravana in Adipurush was better than Yash’s look in Ramayana. The comparison is bound to fuel debate, considering the criticism Adipurush received for its visual design and character presentations.
With Ranbir Kapoor playing Lord Rama and Yash taking on the role of Ravana, Ramayana is one of Indian cinema’s most anticipated projects. Whether Yash’s performance silences the sceptics when the film arrives remains to be seen.
