The Indian audience has expanded its palate for films over the years, and PVR INOX is gearing up to serve them with all their favorite Hollywood titles, be it mainstream big-budget films or indie productions.
From horror lovers to rom-com and anime enthusiasts, they aim to become the go-to destination for global cinema across formats and genres, says Aamer Bijli, the company’s lead strategist for marketing and innovation.
The company is making a major strategic push to bring international cinema to Indian audiences, starting with the premiere of the upcoming action thriller Ballerina, headlined by Hollywood star Ana de Armas.
Over the next year, PVR INOX will distribute several major Hollywood titles from top studios like Lionsgate, A24, Neon, Black Bear, and FilmNation.
The company also shared a glimpse into the next four titles it will be distributing in India: The Smashing Machine, starring Dwayne Johnson; Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, the third installment in Lionsgate’s heist franchise; Aziz Ansari’s comedy Good Fortune, featuring Keanu Reeves and Seth Rogen; and the anime film Shinchan: Kasukabe Dancers.
In addition, PVR INOX has a robust slate lined up for 2025–26, spanning genres such as horror, musicals, drama, romance, and action.
This is exciting news for all cinephiles, as not only mainstream production houses but also niche studios will now have their films showcased in India.
This could pose serious competition to Bollywood and will hopefully encourage Indian filmmakers to raise the bar in terms of quality, aligning more closely with international standards.
