Tollywood boasts numerous directors who demonstrate their prowess, but their hit-or-miss track record keeps them from reaching the top league.
Speaking of the top tier, S.S. Rajamouli has a league of his own, followed by Trivikram Srinivas, Sukumar, and Koratala Siva.
However, curiously, none of these top directors has a single release scheduled for 2023.
While Rajamouli’s absence comes as no surprise, Sukumar has chosen to invest more time and effort into making Pushpa 2 an even bigger and better project due to its immense hype.
Surprisingly, Trivikram has taken a super lengthy break following Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and is returning with a family entertainer, Guntur Kaaram, for the next Sankranthi 2024.
Koratala Siva, who had never encountered a failure until Acharya, experienced a major setback. However, with NTR’s continued support despite substantial delays, he is currently working on Devera. Unfortunately, he also has no releases slated for this year.
In an unusual turn of events, all four prominent Tollywood directors will be absent from the film scene in 2023, each for their own unique reasons.
