72nd National Film Awards: Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 Misses Acting Honour, Sukumar Wins Big Among Telugu Winners
The 72nd National Film Awards, honouring films released in 2024, have been announced. While there was strong speculation that Allu Arjun could create history with another National Award for Pushpa 2: The Rule, that moment did not arrive this year.
However, the film still made its presence felt at the prestigious awards. Director Sukumar won the National Award for Best Screenplay (Original) for Pushpa 2, adding another major achievement to the film’s successful run.
Several Telugu films received recognition across different categories, with Kalki 2898 AD, Committee Kurrollu, 35 Chinna Katha Kaadu and Lucky Baskhar among the major winners.
