Trailer Talk: Big Budget Drama Centred On Music

99 Songs Telugu TrailerThe trailer of legendary music director AR Rahman’s first production, 99 Songs, is out. He also makes his debut as a writer with the movie. It has been in the making for a long time and was initially slated to release in 2018.

However, when one watches the trailer, there is not an ounce of datedness visible anywhere. The making is technically rich with some stunning visuals. When 99 Songs was later ready to the satisfaction of AR Rahman, the corona occurred and delayed its arrival. He even though about giving it a digital release but finally held on to it. Looking at the trailer, we now understand why? There is an attempt to create magic that couldn’t be felt on the smaller screens.

99 Songs introduces debutants Ehan Bhat and Edilsy Vargas in the lead roles. The story is about Ehan’s obsession with music and love. Both are the heart and soul of the film. We can already feel that with the music composed by AR Rahman. But, for the drama, we need to watch it in cinemas to get an idea.

Check out the trailer below. Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy directs the movie along with providing the screenplay. AR Rahman produces 99 Songs on YM Movies. Its worldwide distribution rights are acquired by Jio Studios which is releasing it in multiple languages on April 16th.
