Day 1 BO: How Did AK47 And Cult Start?

Aadarsha Kutumbam and Cult opening day collections

Telugu cinema witnessed two new theatre films this weekend in the form of Aadarsha Kutumbam(AK-47) and Cult. Both the films have completed the first day at the ticket counters and let us have a look at the theatrical returns.

The Venkatesh and Trivikram Srinivas film collected in the vicinity of ₹19 to ₹20 crore on its opening day, which is a reasonable start. It might not be on the level of what is expected from a combination of Trivikram and Venkatesh, but it is what it is.

The film could not generate much momentum before the release, despite the veteran combination value and that reflected in the ordinary openings. But this is an alright number, nevertheless.

Then we have the case of Vishwak Sen, who also arrived at the ticket counters with his latest film Cult. Sadly for this film, it could not generate any kind of momentum before the release either.

The opening day number have not yet been established at an official capacity but they’re not anywhere in the vicinity of a what’s expected for a talented youngster like Vishwak.

If we have a look at the hourly booking trains on BookMyShow, Aadarsha Kutumbam is selling around 11,000 per hour while Cult is selling in the range of 1000 tickets per hour.

At the United States box office AK-47 has collected in the range of $625,000 and there’s a lot of catching up to be done over the weekend condisdering the investments involved.
