Aakasam Lo Oka Tara has been in the making for quite some time now, and because of the names associated with the project, the film has carried a certain weight and curiosity from the beginning.
Backed by reputed banners Geetha Arts and Swapna Cinema, directed by Pavan Sadineni, and featuring Dulquer Salmaan in the lead, the film generated interest early among movie circles and audiences alike.
However, the film has now found itself indirectly in the news for an unfortunate reason.
According to reports, a case has been registered at Banjara Hills Police Station following a complaint filed by an actress who alleged harassment by a casting artist connected to her role in the film.
As per police information, the actress, who has been associated with the film industry for a few years, was approached by a person identified as Prasad. He reportedly promised her a supporting role as the heroine’s friend in Aakasam Lo Oka Tara.
The actress stated that shooting for the film was completed between October and December 2025. However, after the work was done, she allegedly did not receive her pending remuneration of ₹90,000 along with ₹38,000 that was supposed to cover travel expenses.
The complaint further alleges that in February this year, Prasad asked her to meet near the office of a prominent film producer in Banjara Hills, claiming the pending payment would be settled.
Instead, she alleged that he threatened her, forced her into a car, and took her some distance away. During the incident, he allegedly told her that he could arrange more film opportunities if she fulfilled his personal demands and behaved inappropriately.
The actress reportedly left the place feeling frightened and humiliated and later informed her mother about the incident.
According to the complaint, when her mother contacted the accused over the phone and questioned him, he allegedly abused and threatened her as well.
Based on the complaint, Banjara Hills police registered a case and initiated an investigation.
At this stage, these are allegations made in the complaint, and authorities are yet to complete the investigation and determine further action.
Aakasam Lo Oka Tara is yet to lock its release date. For now, it is scheduled to release this year.
