Adipurush’s trailer was released yesterday in a big way in multiple languages. The audience response has been mixed, but everyone agrees that the trailer was much better than the teaser, which was outrightly rejected.
One thing that caught everyone’s attention is that the trailer had very few glimpses of Ravana, played by Saif Ali Khan. In the 100-second teaser, he had many shots, whereas, in the 200-minute trailer, Saif had very less footage.
One of the reasons the Adipurush teaser was trolled in a big way was Saif Ali Khan’s appearance which did not go down well with the audience. Many said that he looked more like a Mughal invader Alauddin Khilji and not like Ravana, who was a Shiv Bhakt. His haircut was also criticized for being too modern, like a TikToker.
Maybe that was the reason the makers decided to show very less of Saif Ali Khan in the trailer. It seems they couldn’t change his look much with VFX and other techniques, so they decided to show very less of him in the teaser.
The makers are still scared of the negativity caused by Saif, as Ravana in the teaser. They might have thought that let the audience first come into the theaters and then decide about Saif’s look and performance.
Saif Ali Khan was also not invited to the trailer launch event, maybe for the same reasons. It also seems he might not be part of any Adipurush promotions, at least till the release.
On the contrary, we believe that Saif Ali Khan might turn out to be one of the highlights of Adipurush. He is a fine actor and director Om Raut knows how to extract a cracker performance from him as he did in Tanhaji.
