Actor Adivi Sesh has now confirmed that film Dacoit will not have any premiere shows across India. At a time when paid premieres have become a common strategy to build early buzz, this decision is surprising.
Instead, the film will begin its screenings directly on April 10 with early morning 8 AM shows nationwide. Adivi Sesh did not reveal the exact reason behind skipping premieres, leaving room for speculation.
This move comes at a time when a bigger issue within Tollywood is slowly becoming normal in Tollywood, and it has less to do with “passion” and more to do with poor planning. At a recent pre-release event, a lead actor proudly said the team had been working day and night without sleep to finish post-production. While it may sound like dedication on the surface, it actually exposes a deeper issue. Films are simply not being planned properly from the start.
This is no longer a one-off case. Across multiple projects, technicians like music directors, editors, and VFX teams are being pushed to the edge with last minute deadlines. In some cases, they even skip promotional events because they are still busy finishing the film. Instead of a structured workflow, many productions are running on chaos and urgency.
The impact is clearly visible, especially in overseas markets like the US. Premiere shows often get delayed or cancelled because content is not delivered on time. Even when it arrives, the final output sometimes feels rushed, affecting the overall quality. This leads to poor word of mouth among and direct financial losses.
What is more frustrating is that even after postponing release dates, some films still fail to meet deadlines. That raises a basic question. Why lock a release date when the film is not ready?
Today’s audience values quality over hype. If Tollywood continues this last-minute culture, it risks damaging its credibility. Better planning, realistic timelines, and respect for the filmmaking process are no longer optional. They are necessary.
It Begins at 8AM
