Akhil Akkineni had been one of the prospective talents in Telugu cinema for a really long time now. But the problem has been with the fact that his commercial meter never fully pee to his fullest potential.
But finally appears to have cracked the code with his latest film Lenin. This might not be the most critically raved or commercially sound film, but it’s doing the job at the box office.
Thanks to the existing vacuum and the reasonable commercial content in the second half, the Akhil film is doing reasonably well at the ticket counters. The film has collected more than ₹50 crore at the global box office in the opening three day weekend.
This is the best opening weekend tally for Akhil till date, and that was expected to be the case as well, considering the scale that it was mounted on. The promotional campaign was also very confident and assertive, which helped the cause.
But real challenge will be for Akhil to sustain this momentum now, and come up with better quality films in the coming days as well. He has finally realised his potential at the ticket counters, and the only way ahead now must be forward and upwards.
Needless to say, Akhil is one of the few Telugu heroes who has the love and approval of almost all major hero fandoms in Telugu cinema, and he carries this warm persona that’s loved by all.
So after years of underperformance and in adequate film choices, Akhil has finally found his group, and it is crucial that he sets up his upcoming projects in an even better manner.
