Kalki is Tollywood’s next big outing in the pan-Indian space as the film is headed for release on the 27th of this month. The stakes are high on this sci-fi thriller which happens to be one of the costliest creations in Indian cinema.

Coming to the point, over the last couple of days, the main point of discussion related to Kalki on social media has been about the music composer Santosh Narayan.

After the arrival of the second trailer last night, there has been a lot of talk about the music score for the same. The main complaint has been that the composition lacks the high-point and hook tune that is needed to deliver a thumping viewing experience.

Though Santosh’s score is in tune with the narrative and might bode well with the scheme of things, the anticipation is that a high-pitch BGM with repeat value is needed. Netizens are already doubting Nag Ashwin’s choice of going with Santosh for a project of this scale.

That being said, it is too early to judge Santosh’s work ahead of the film’s release. Only after watching the film on the big screens and witnessing the musical score can we adjudge his work.

Santosh had earlier delivered thumping scores for Kabali, Vada Chennai, Mahaan, Chittha, and others. While the theme and nature of Kalki might be different, this poses a new challenge to the talented composer. So it is wise to wait for the film to release on big screens before doubting his work. The ball is in his court to deliver the goods now.
